HENRY BOYD WILL

In the name of God Amen I HENRY BOYD of the town of Franklin County of Delaware and State of New York being of sound mine and memory do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say,
First, I give and bequeath to my wife LYDIA H. BOYD the sum of thirty five hundred dollars beside the house and lot on which we now live together with all the furniture in said house.
Second, I give and bequeath to the Croton Methodist Episcopal Church the sum of five hundred dollars to be placed in the hands of the trustees of the same to be kept at perpetual interest the annal interest to be used by the trustees for the benefit of said Church.
Third, I give and devise all the rest and remainder of my personal estate after having paid all necessary expenses and creating a family monument in the cemetry the cost not to exceed two hundred dollars, into five equal parts to the heirs of the late Captain O.B. BOYD and to my son LAVELL H. BOYD and my daughters ALVERDA M. SCHERMERHORN, ELLA J. VAN TASSLE & GRACE L. BOYD. In case it can not be amicably settled by the parties interested the acting justice of the peace shall names three disinterested men whose decision shall be final.
Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my son LAVELL H. BOYD, JOHN H. SCHERMERHORN and IRVING VAN TASSLE to be executors of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof signed sealed published and declared by the said HENRY BOYD as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
