According to Alabama Methodist Church records, he was a Methodist minister in good standing. In New York his family lived in Hancock, Delaware County. LIDDLE - I am seeking information about siblings and ancestors of my great grandfather, Thomas J. Liddle, who was born in Delaware County, New York on August 7, 1841. I believe Thomas J. was the son of Alexander (born about 1817 in New York State) and Bina Liddle and the grandson of Thomas (born about 1780 in Scotland) and Margaret Liddle. Listed in the 1850 census for Andes is the Alexander Liddle family. He and the family members with their
age at the time of the census are Alexander 33, Bina 21, Thomas 9 (this would make his birth date 1841), Margaret 7, Henry 6, Andrew 4, and Jane 2. Thomas and Henry both came west to Washington State after 1865. They are both buried out here.

A possible biracial background through Flora may suggest parents other than those listed: William S Lyon 1829 1909/Mary Elizabeth Davis 1835 1900. Search centers on nine children of Burr Lyon 1795 1867, father of William S Lyon. Four of five of Burr Lyon's sons were married before Flora was born. Also four of Walter Lyon's sons Burr, Bradley 1790 1865 and Zalmon 1807 1886 could have had previous marriages as could Wakeman Lyon 1799 1883 whose marital history is unclear and who has no children listed. No trace of an alternate placement of an unknown child among extended family members has been found. A photo of the Native American wife was lost and no further evidence has been revealed. This Lyon family are Mayflower descendants through Priscilla Redfield 1763 1836 wife of Walter Lyon 1769 1829, father of Burr Lyon. Any input, resource appreciated. Thank you.
