Delaware Co., Physicians Licenses
Submitted by Wendy Bovee Wall, August 7, 2000
To the Reader/Researcher:
The material relating to the licensing of physicians in Delaware County is located in various places and goes back to the early 1800's. Documents assigned a M letter are manuscripts. They are transcribed in the following pages. The original documents have been through conservation processes and may be seen upon request to the staff of the Delaware County Clerk's Office. The other references are from books (as noted in the contents) which are shelved in the Clerk's Office. Another record series, Tavern Licenses, Related Documents & References, (DCA 1986-10) contain a number of licenses issued to physicians to sell

Notes from researchers:
I believe that the second physician should be Philip BASSETT - not Bassell. I have an ancestor named for him. Ancestor's full name was:
James Richard Philip Bassett Thomas Washburn Shaver (Believe it or not) This is the honest truth! Regards, Helen, September 1, 2000
