Kellys Get Together At Beach Firehouse
Fifty-seven persons assembled at the Lewbeach firehouse Sunday, Aug.6, to share a picnic dinner and renew old family ties.
These were all descendents and spouses of the late Abram and Sarah (Stanton) Kelly, who lived near the headwaters of the Beaverkill in the late 1800's and early 1900's and reared a family of nine children:
Harvey, Violetta (Etta), William, Frances, Ora, Harriett, Edith, Lester and Pearl. Mrs. Wilber McNair of Windsor (Pearl) is the only surviving one present at Sunday's reunion.
Mr. and Mrs. James A. Kelley of Washington, D.C., probably traveled farthest to attend this affair. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Kelley, Sr. of Washington and has compiled a detailed genealogy of the Kelly and Kelley families. His mother was Frances Kelley.
Sponsors of this year's reunion were Mr. and Mrs. C. Lloyd Mann of Lewbeach. Mrs. Mann is the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Burton of Lewbeach. Mrs. Burton was Edith Kelly.
BELLEAYRE
Mr. and Mrs. Marks Buerge and Mrs. Millicent Buerge attended the Kelley reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mann at Lewbeach Sunday. Miss Ruth Marks was home for part of the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. James Kelley of Washington, D.C., visited Mrs. Millicent Buerge and family the first of the week.
