"Record of last Will and Testament of William M. Rowland, deceased.
Be it remembered, That heretofore, to wit: on the 13th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, William H. Haslett, the Executor named in the Last Will and Testament of William M. Rowland, late of Kortright, in the County of Delaware, deceased, appeared in open court, before the surrogate of the County of Delaware, and made application to have the said Last Will and Testament which relates to both Real and Personal Estate, proved:
and on such application the said Surrogate did ascertain by satisfactory evidence who were the heirs at law and next of kin of the said testator and their respective resiences, and said Surrogate did thereupon issue a Citation in due form of law, directed to the heirs at law and next of kin by their respective names, requiring them to appear before said Surrogate at his office in the Village of Delhi, in said County, on the 5th day of June, A.D. 1899, to attend the probate of said Will. And Afterwards, to wit: on the 9th day of June, A.D. 1899,
satisfactory evidence by affidavit was produced and presented to the
Surrogate, of the due service of said Citation in the mode prescribed by law, and on that day the proponent having appeared in support of the
probate of said Will, and no one appearing to oppose the probate of the
same such proceedings were thereupn had in said Court that the said
Surrogate took the proofs of said Will hereinafter set forth,

upon this 9th day of June, A.D. 1899 and he thereupon adjudged the said
Will to be a vallid Will of Real and personal estate, and the
proofs thereof to be sufficient, which said Last Will and Testament and proofs, are as follows, that is to say:

[handwritten] Last Will and Testament. I, William M. Rowland of the Town of Kortright County of Delaware and State of New York, do make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, in

First.--I direct the payment of any just debts, if any.
Second.--I give and bequeath to my step grand daughter Miss Bertha Jones of Binghamptom New York five hundred dollars ($500.00)
Third--I give and bequeath all the balance of my estate real and personal whereof I may die seized and possessed to my two daughters
Mrs. Caroline Augusta Haslett of West Kortright N.Y. and
Mrs. Adda Jane [June?] Dysart of Ripon Wis. to have and to hold the same to themselves [phase? unreadable] and [phase? unreadable] alike; their heirs and assigns forever.
Likewise, I make, constitutute and appoint Wm. H. Haslett to be sole executor of this my last Will and Testatment, hereby revoking all [unreadable] wills by me made.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my
seal, the Fifth day of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

We, whose names are hereunto subscribed, do certify that Wm M. Rowland
the testator, subscribed his name to this instrument in our presence, and in the presence of each of us, and at the same time he declared in our presence and hearing that the same was his last will and testament, and requested us, and each of us to sign our names thereto as witnessess to the executions thereof, and which we hereby do in the presence of the testator and of each other, the day of the date of the said Will, and have written opposite our names our respective places of residence.

Walter Scott of the town of Davenport in the County of Delaware, N.Y.
being duly sworn as a witness in the above entitled matter, and examined in open Court in behalf of the proponent, to prove said Will, deposes and says I am well acquainted with Ella R. Twlevetrees formerly of the town of Kortright County of Delaware and State of New York (now absent from the State) and with her manner and style of handwriting, having often seen [her?] write--; I verily believe that the signature "Mrs. Ella R. Twelvetrees" subscribed as a witness in the instrument [unreadable] now produced and shown to me, purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of William M. Rowland, deceased, bearing date the 5th of June, 1896, is the true and genuine handwriting and the proper signature of the said Ella R. Twelvetrees.

M.T. Scott of the town of Davenport...in behalf of the proponent to prove
I was well acquainted with Wm M. Rowland...and had known him for more
than 11 years before his death. The subscription of the decedent's name
to the instrument now shown to me, and offered for probate...and bearing the date [unreadable] day of June...1896, was made by the decedent at his residence in the town of Davenport in the county of delaware, in the presence of myself and Mrs. Ella R. Twelvetrees the other subscribing witness....I also saw said Mrs. Ella R. Twlevetrees the other subscribing witness sign her name as a witness at the end of said Will...
Taken, subscribed and sworn to before me,
this 9 day of June, 1899
