NOTE of August 23, 2011: I went back thru Myrah's photo album to look for other images of SHS in her photos and did not find anything that could verify that the photo was, or was not in fact, of the high school. I also went thru her photos of Adams High School and didn't find any pictures that could verify that school, either. I think that the photo on your site is of Adams High School; Jamie Fitz is correct about it not being SHS. Take a look at adamsny.net/1923yrbk.html and blow up the photo of the high school. It resembles SHS, but has curved-top windows and the pilastered awning at the front entrance, much like the photo I sent you. --Joanne Walley Casey, August 23, 2011

NOTE August 18, 2011: This photo touched of a HUGE amount of discussion on a Facebook group called "You know you are from Sidney if you can remember". Much discussion about the old school her architecture, some discrepancies in different photos and artwork led me down a path that ultimately brought me to the Sidney Historical Society yesterday after which we pretty much are 100% certain that the photo on your site just can't be our old school. I am sure everyone else involved in the discussion would LOVE to find out more about where the picture came from , and if the location can ever be properly identified.
