This picture was in Dad's things. On the back it says, Getty Children, Howell, Vera, Mary, Louise. I did not find the name anywhere in the website but then checked with Aunt Jeanne. Mr Getty was one of the ministers at the New Kingston Presbyterian Church. Maybe there is still family out there that may be interested in this. I have the original.

Note received from Ian Heath, Redding, CA, April 26, 2003 "I know who they are. Their father was George Hale Getty [D.D.] who is descended from the Getty brothers that came to New York from Ireland and settled in Washington county, New York (Salem and Hebron towns, primarily). I can't prove my Getty is descended from those ones, but I might suggest you contact the Bancroft Library http://www.slibrary.org/ if you want to find the picture a home. It seems to me they ought to be interested seeing that George H. is a descendant of Robert Getty of Hebron (1721-?), and the son of James McWhorter Getty. |
