  My husband's family includes the THOMAS family of Hales Eddy, NY and The LAKIN family. I recently reviewed some old photos that belonged to Emily Corinna Lakin Thomas and found these two of John T. Lakin. The photo of him in the chair is from a newspaper article "The Hancock Herald" Vol. XXXII, Hancock, NY Thursday, August 4, 1904. In the article about the "Campaign of 1844, 16th Anniversary-Stiring Times in Hancock, John T, Lakin Democrat," his photo is the same as the one I am sending only he does not have the hat. --Rita Wolf Pierce
