I don't have much on my mother's great-grandparents, Charles Dix and Emmagene Cummings, but I do have this

GENERATION ONE Charles Dix (1851) and Emma G. Cummings (1850) lived in the Town of Tompkins and Charles was a farmer. They were the parents of Charles D. Dix (1880) who was born in Walton, NY. After Charles died, Emma later married ?? Townsend. He appears on the grand juror records for Delaware County in 1788 and 1880. In the 1880 list, he is listed as a lumberman in Carpenter's Eddy.
