Delaware County, NY Genealogy and History Site
The properties described in these deeds, are all along Roxbury Mtn. road where it crosses over the shoulder of Old Clump toward Roxbury. I believe my grandfather obtained these deed copies to verify his property lines - his property was on the Town of Stamford side of Old Clump.
A little trivia for anyone interested. The ridge from Old Clump south was not only the border between the towns of Stamford and Roxbury, but was also the watershed between the east and west branches of the Delaware River. At least, that's what I was told when I was growing up on Roxbury Mtn. Road. It would be interesting to see a map of where the watershed between the two branches lies. --Vernon C.
