'Molly' McLaughlin

This photo is from the collection of my mother, Florence (Shaffer) Keel, 1909-1993. Mom grew up in the Hancock area. Molly's relationship to my mother is a mystery. Alice Crim, April 19, 2003

Note from Tom Nevlud, Raleigh, NC: Although there remain some unanswered questions regarding Molly McLaughlin's relationship to Florence Shaffer Keel, I am very familiar with this woman. In fact, my mother-in-law has several other pictures of her. I have tried several times to contact Ms. Crim, but with limited success. Mary McLaughlin lived most of her life across the border in nearby Wayne County, PA and Susquehanna County, PA. She is my wife's great-grandmother. Burial: Peckville, PA near Scranton, PA Occupation: Conductor, when Mildred Marie was born, per birth certificate. Spouse 1: Mary Ann "Molly" McLaughlin (6 April 1878-June 1916) (married 1905/Rock Lake, PA) Children/Spouse 1: Mildred Marie (1907-2000) m James Harrison Ivey (1910-1981) in 1935 Francis (June 1916-June 1916/died at birth) Spouse 2: Katherine Kane (married June 1920) Children/Spouse 2: John William "Jack" Riley (killed in plane crash in California during WW II) Notes: Mary Anne (McLaughlin) Riley died giving birth in 1916. The child also died. Both are buried in Rock Lake, PA. Mildred Marie's birth certificate lists Mary Anne's birth as NE, but this is incorrect. She was born in PA.
