This is a photograph of Edgar Couse with his horse and buggy in front of his parents' house, Emma Whitman and Peter Couse, in Deposit, NY around 1910. Although travel by horse and buggy looks fun, the streets and roads were well covered with horse droppings.

This photograph was from the collection of Nellie Couse Pearsall and survived her house fire in the 1950's and this photograph just escaped being destroyed.
