The following obituary is among some clipped news items that my gg-grandmother, Mary Ann Grant Dann, saved. It probably came from The Walton Reporter. She wrote 1906 at the top of the page. Based on an adjoining obit, the death likely occured at the end of July. John A. Brisack also went by the name "Albert J. Brisack," and his son's correct name is probably "Edward." submitted by Carolee Innskeep - posted to this website February 11, 2011
JOHN A. BRISACK John A. Brisack died at his home on the East Brook road yesterday morning aged 82 years. The deceased had been for several years in poor health but the immediate cause of his death was heart disease. Mr. Brisack enlisted in Company B, 144th Regiment and served during the war. He returned to Walton soon after the close of strife and has been a respected resident of the town since. He leaves a widow, one son, Edwin, living on Long Island and one daughter, Anna, residing at home. One brother, Mahlen, of Lincoln, Neb., and a sister Mrs. Sylvia Kellogg of Damascus, Pa., also survive. The funeral will be held at the Congregational church, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The members of Ben Marvin Post, of which deceased was a member will attend in a body and are requested to meet at the library rooms promptly at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. |
