Anderson Family Farmhouse - this picture was taken during the late 1880's and the late 1890's. My g-grandfather is sitting on the front row of the picture and Mary Amanda Walling is sitting on the front porch. The farmhouse at one time stood on Grange Hal Road in North Franklin. I have never seen it, but I was told that it was still standing. --James F. Anderson --December 10, 2006
Richard, Mary, Julia Anderson - This is my g-g-g-grandmother Mary Amanda Walling who was married to Burrit Anderson. They came to North Franklin, Delaware, New York in 1855 to their farm in March of that year. From that time, until 1911. the family farmed the area. Richard is one of Mary Amanda's son's and Julia is her daughter. They cared for their mother until her death in 1898. Richard passed away in 1911 and Julia passed away in 1928. All three of these people as well as their father, two brothers, a sister, and a host of other family members are buried in Ouleout Cemetery on Route 28.
The two stock certificates (click here) and (click here) are certificates that belonged to my g-g-grandfather who owned a farm on Gay Brook Road in North Franklin. His name was Warren Anderson. These have been passed down through the family through my grandfather. After his death, they became my father's possession.
For the Treadwell Telephone Co. - (click here for the front) and (click here for the back of the certificate). Just thought these might be of interest to a few folks in Franklin. Also thought I should add my family to the members of the community since they have been there for about 151 years. We do still have members of our family living there. A lot of them still live very close to the original homestead.
