SILAS S. SMITH & wife LYDIA GILLETT

Born in Feeding Hills, Mass, his wife, Lydia Gillett was born in Hebron, Connecticut. They moved to Franklin prior to 1826 where they raised all their children. It is believed he built "The Stone House" on Walton Road (now the Franklin Walton Road). Their son, Silas Gillett Smith was born in 1826 in Franklin.
